Looking back from next to Abbey Street Junction, this was the first bridge that that the N&AJR passed under, known as Stoney Lane.
Despite the closure of the N&AJR in 1971, the rails were still in situ passed this bridge right up to the West Coast Mainline, for use as a private siding for ballast trains from the adjacent Tuttle Hill Quarry, rail use finished in the early 1980's and the remainder of the line was dismantled.
Maybe one day in the distant future a modern generation of trains will again pass through the central arch?.
