Whetstone Viaduct just South of Leicester was opened in 1899 as part of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincoln Railway's London Extension - later to be called The Great Central Railway from Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Rugby and into London Marylebone. Closure as a through route came in September 1966, but a small section between Nottingham and Rugby - which included this viaduct was kept as a sporadic shuttle service until May 1969. Since then the viaduct - has laid disused in the Leicestershire countryside.

Photo's taken using a DJI Mini 4 Pro drone as well as a Samsung Galaxy A71.
