A pleasing appearance on Thursday 30th September was Transpennine Express liveried 68019 Brutus working 6U76 Crewe Basford Hall - Mountsorrel empty ballast boxes, even more pleasing was the fact it was a pleasant sunny day too, followed less than 15 minutes later by 70005 working 4L93 Lawley Street - Felixstowe freightliner.

Having had numerous photos of her Colas Rail livery, and even one or 2 of her back in RES days, it was pleasing that 47727, now named Edinburgh Castle on one side of the loco, with the Celtic equivalent; Caisteal Dhún Éideann on the other side, and sporting the very smart Caledonian Sleeper livery, was working a private railtour on behalf of GBRF from Crewe to Scarborough and back. As both the outward and return legs was routed via my local line, it was rude not to go out for her.

Saturday 28th July seen a trip to Pembroke Dock, mainly to sample the branch between Whitland and Pembroke Dock, and also to take advantage of good value fares that Great Western Railway were offering in First Class; £12 single, each way between Bristol Parkway and Pembroke Dock and back to Bristol Parkway again. Altogether, the day was fabulous, the connections were great and also myself and Gavin were in good company for the day.

A summary of my sightings and observations from Day 2 of my 3-in-7 Rover.
