April 3rd seen an all day photo event at the Great Central Railway featuring Class 55 Deltic Gordon Highlander which was posed at various locations along the line and also seen quite a number of run pasts performed too. This was a joint event by Jason Cross of the EMRPS and Neil Cave. The weather unfortunately didn't play ball as it was cloudy and dull all day with some rain thrown in as well. However this didn't put the photographers and videographers off though and in the end we all got some decent shots and video footage too. The event was made even more enjoyable by the fact we had full use of the refreshment facilities where a cooked breakfast was available from 7am onwards as well as lunch. We also had an evening meal which was specially prepared for us by the chef at Loughborough Central. Whilst there was a number of options I opted for leek and potato soup with a crusty bread roll and butter for a starter then Roast Beef with vegetables for my main and a fruit crumble with single cream. The food was delightful and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits the Great Central either for the day or even for a ride on the dining trains in the evening.

Anyway back to the photo's, after the day shoot and delightful evening meal we then had a night shoot featuring the Deltic on the TPO set at Loughborough Central Station. Some may say we've done that shot to death but with the old station and semaphore signals it is a nice shot.
