The Class 121 diesel railcars were built by British Rail from 1960. Sixteen vehicles were built altogether and was supplemented by 10 trailer vehicles. They had a top speed of 70mph.

Built for use on the Western Region of British Rail on the Devon and Cornwall branch lines and also branch lines of the Great Western Mainline in the Thames Valley.
