Good Afternoon Folks,
For some reason or other, these mid-afternoon jaunts that I seem to do of late have been quite good, Wednesday 25th June also failed to disappoint, first off arriving onto the bridge that bisects Elford Loop, I met a couple of other photographers out. Having not that long missed 56312 working light engine back to Washwood Heath (well you can't win them all can you lol), I wasn't really too bothered as I had a good helping of it at the Nene Valley Railway diesel gala back in May.
With 70007 to make an appearance first working 4O55 Leeds - Southampton freghtliner, in some sunshine which was quite lucky as there was quite a bit of cloud bubbling up, I then attempted to walk to the Elford occupation bridge at the end of the loop where I got 60024 at the start of May, however this had to be aborted as the side of the footpath up to the bridge was that much overgrown as well as the farmers crops not to mention I was stung several times by nettles and thistles. It was decided to head to Portway to spend the remainder of the afternoon for the inward and outbound tank trains to Kingsbury, as well as a quartet of Class 20's on the London Undergroud S-Stock move from Derby Litchurch Lane - Amersham.
*Of note, 66125 appeared into the loop at Elford at 18:31 after the Class 20's had went passed working 6V66 Redcar - Margam loaded coke hoppers. As of 19:00 I didn't hang around as I was feeling hungry lol.
